Cruise Phase 1
... the ports at the same time as us which makes it busy and crowded. As you would expect, most of our sightseeing is limited to the areas around the ports. Time and opportunity prohibits in depth exploring, but it certainly allows us to get the flavour of the different places we have visited.
While cruising might not be for everyone, it certainly has been a great experience so far. Very good if you want to practise your skill of striking up a conversation with random ...
Arrived in Heraklion
... other (they're only having a conversation really!) and all sorts of airport staff sat in a long line wearing sun glasses and smoking cigarettes. We jump in a taxi straight away and for 12 euros we reach our Hotel. The city is only 4 kilometres west of the airport and it only takes 10 minutes to get there. Kreta

Troy playing solitare and eating half soft melted white chocolate. Before we knew we arrived in Santorini, ...
Goodbye Crete
... it better not sink!!! We check out and we drive to Heraklion port which only took about 15 minutes. We leave the car in the port carpark unlocked with the keys under the drivers mat, well that is what the car hire company told us to. Goodbye car and we jump on our Hellenic Seaways Vodafone Seacat ferry to Mykonos (via Santorini and Paros).
Note for self: If return do not spend a lot of time in Heraklion, not overally attractive place.
