      ... br> Had been such beautiful views last night descending from them there hills onto the string of coastal villages with the lights of the island behind and then a big yellow squashed moon rising over it all – went to the prom about 9pm to see if I could see it – too early and bad angle too as not a glimmer, but a lovely balmy breeze.       ... over & watched me safely in the door having seen him approach!

      It was OK but the high location of the fan meant I had to take the top bunk, not at easy task with slippery synthetic sheets and no ladder. Late arrival meant all the supermarkets with cold beer had shut, so forced to pay double price at the petrol station, but was really ready for it after that hideous day of nearly 14 hours on the roads with heavy rain, lightning, ***** seatmates and smelly loo ...

      ... would) it fell down onto her chest!! Apparently a nice guy pulled it off and dropped it out the window. But by this point the whole bus was staring because she had literally been screaming and in hysterics. Apparently they like to hang out in the trees around our faculty and it is not uncommon for them for ‘fall out’ (or pounce?) on innocent, unsuspecting students walking to class... I am now absolutely paranoid whenever I walk under the trees ...

      Day 15: Maranduba

      After a day away, it was nice to get back to normality and head to Pulso beach for one last chilled day - by car this time, the kayak was left at home.

      We were one man down, as Mikey had a spot of sunstroke, 6 days on the beers, as well as being up at 6am with Helena had taken its toll!
