... so we begin with an early Sunday morning start in order to cross London before the roads are too busy. Leaving home at 7.30am we drive to Woolwich, crossing central London with only one minor wrong turn which is easily rectified. Night! J ...

Early start for us with a 7.08 train from Durham down to London. We checked out of our cosy cottage in Cornsay and dropped the car off in a leafy suburb where hopefully it will stay until Tuesday. The trip down was good, 2 1/2 hours except I sat opposite a kid who kicked me all the way down, should have moved as the train wasn't full. We came into Kings Cross station, saw platform 9 3/4 where you could queue for a photo, will do that when we go back! Finally worked ...

... about our trip: Time: 10 weeks Countries visited: 5 Miles covered: 39,000 Miles driven in Oz: 1,131 Apartments rented: 5 Hotels stayed in: 16 Friends & family kind enough to put us up: 3 It's been a really wonderful experience in very many ways.
