      ... ugly as hell. Its exposed girders and yellow crane on top are a design feature to make it look unfinished - random? There are much nicer buildings around it including the Canary Wharf Tower. We also pass something which looks like a 'slice' of a ship, no idea what it is, other than...bizarre!

      ... lake for a quick Pimms before strolling back down around the left side of the palace Rrto St James Park. On the way we saw lots of monuments, they do like a good statue here but we did see the Memorial to the Australians killed in the wars which was impressive.

      ... on 4th July 1946 following the declaration of independence. The park includes Chinese and Japanese gardens, an Orchidarium and Butterfly Pavilion, a planetarium, a monument of Lapu-Lapu, a fountain area and children's lagoon. Sounds well worth visit. Between the park and the Bay of Manila lies the U.S. Embassy.
