... so we begin with an early Sunday morning start in order to cross London before the roads are too busy. Leaving home at 7.30am we drive to Woolwich, crossing central London with only one minor wrong turn which is easily rectified. Early start for us with a 7.08 train from Durham down to London. We checked out of our cosy cottage in Cornsay and dropped the car off in a leafy suburb where hopefully it will stay until Tuesday. The trip down was good, 2 1/2 hours except I sat opposite a kid who kicked me all the way down, should have moved as the train wasn't full.
