... flag. I took a moment to stop and look around. I felt like I was in California, and that I really didn't belong. I was probably the youngest person there, and I couldn't stop thinking that everyone there probably think I contribute to the embassy in some way or another, or at least I'm important in other ways. ... and reliving their "glory days"... mostly their favorite East Lansing bars. "Has Rick's burned to the ground yet? No? It probably should be."

Ankara was a great city to start out in, especially considering that very few people here spoke English (yay immersion!) and we had a great experience here. Tonight we leave for the coast and I'm not sure how often I'll have internet and be able to update, but I can promise that I will be having fun :)

... at the "Old Greek House" which is literally that -- an old Greek house. It's famous for its food where you eat in an open court which is surrounded on the upper levels by the rooms. It's simple but very homey and the caretakers are a large family that are very friendly -- we all received big hugs when we arrived.
