No shortage of water here
We have now learnt, make sure you know the currency of the country you are going to and also that you have the right amount for the entrance visa and some extra because the price seems to go up on the day you arrive. Travelling from country to country can be exhausting, currency and the language barrier being the main contributors.

Rest Day 1
The first member of our group left yesterday, but seven more were leaving today, some to travel elsewhere and a number to return home. There was no rush to get up, but we had agreed to clean and collapse our tent ready for the second leg. First we had breakfast at the campsite restaurant (In-da-belly) before returning to prepare for our two nights …
Rest Day 2
Today we are just taking things easy prior to starting the second leg of our trip – we have done about 4500 kms so far; roughly 7000 kms to go. Have spent most of the day at the hotel, apart from a quick shopping outing. Tonight we are having an earlier dinner to try and watch some of the Olympics Opening ceremony and then have an early night before a prompt departure tomorrow.
Victoria Falls (Zim & Zam)
Vic Falls
We took advantage of the morning and did a early private boat ride on the river. We spotted a pair of African Fish Eagles. We took a minibus from Chobe Safari Lodge to Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side. After checking in at the Ilala Lodge, we promptly headed out walking towards the Falls. The biggest hassle was all the vendors trying to sell …

TravelPod Member ReviewsIlala Lodge Victoria Falls
We were very happy with the accomodation. The staff try so hard to make your stay enjoyable. Not quite always getting it right but this would be because of our accent when communicating and our culture differences. Everything is close by with pleanty of service to transport you where ever you need to go. The secuity police make things feel very safe and do it with a smile on their face. If we have to fault anything it would be the price they charge for drinks and if you stay as long as we did you find the menu does not change. Meals prices are a bit high also.
