... a browse through their beer selection and as I was doing so the waitress extolled the virtues of the Aventinus Eisbock.
She said it was a 12% beer that still had a Belgian fruity quality but with the 12% kick.
Had to give it a go and after half a glass on top of the 9% tripel I just had before am really feeling that kick as I write this!!!
Lucky she gave me some bread and crisps to go with the beer...

A Quicky, Sicky Day Trip To Pisa

... with our tea for a spell, unfortunately we both decided that we weren’t up for doing anything else in Pisa – we just were not feeling well. So, we walked back to the train station to catch a train back to Florence (even buying some fresh bananas at a little market during the walk back – hey, we’re feeling optimistic). Both Murray and I were very nauseous on the train ride back, but I did manage to fall ...

Stayed at Affittacamere Patrizia Hostel in Rio Maggiore in Cinque Terre and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
When we got to the Hostel it was just an office and no one was there. Our keys were stuck to the door with instructions on how to get to our dorm room. There was another set of keys there too so we could have taken those too and ...

Tastings and Traveling in Terrific Tuscany!

... lunch in a local vineyard.

Let me say, the Tuscan countryside is just as beautiful as everyone says it is. Siena was our first stop. This little town is divided up into lots of divisions called Contrade. Each Contrade gets their own symbol or mascot, for example, our tour guide was from the Caterpillars (not joking). It’s a very very old city, and they’ve been running a horse ...

Then early to bed while we sailed on the smooth dark blue sea.

Late the next morning we arrived in Monaco, after sailing slowly along the French Cote d'Azure. We spotted places we had been before - Villfranche, Nice, Eze, before ...

Where's the beach?!

... not eat them until we found the beach...as like a reward. We asked a man how to get there and he told us to just keep walking. Well after about 15 minutes we kinda gave up and ended up eating our kebabs on a bench....good willpower! haha So then we kept walking some more. 20 minutes later we found some people laying on rocks by the water. We had to cross some random construction stuff because the entrance was closed. Well this rocky area was tiny so we didnt want that ...

Livorno, Italy - Cruise 2

... frequent the same area of notorious pickpocketers (i.e. tourist heavy area) there? Absolutely, but I will go about it differently, because if I didn't then it would be my fault for not learning from my mistake. So I did not get off the ship yesterday as I had no readily available funds and shuttles cost at least a Euro. So I spent the afternoon chillin' on the ship and then going back to work in the evening and late night.

Cinque Terra

... in the summer, was quite light. We had the nicest time in Portofino. After a quick look around, we bought onion foccacia and a sweet pastry at Panificio Canale. The sweetest old man, 90 years young, came out from the back to talk to us and told us that he has reached the age of 90 because he eats this foccacia everyday! We took our treats down to the harbor, opened the wine I brought (with your Swiss army knife, Ken. Thanks!) and had the best meal together ...
