... ladies, who while they didn't speak English, did very well at communicating with us. It's pretty amazing what can be accomplished with hand gestures and a few words. I filled out a form they had for me in English, and then they copied what I wrote in the spaces from the English form to the Italian form so they could read it. Because we were half-board we also got free table wine and sparkling water, ...

... plan didn't start until supper that we could go eat breakfast because they knew we'd be hungry, which we appreciated.

We were delivered to our hotel room and just crashed and unfortunately for us, slept through breakfast. It was official that it had been 24 hours since our last meal, as on the ferry our supper had been a soda, chocolate bar and small bag of chips. Regardless, we slept for a few hours and felt less cranky. We got up and went to ...

With the end of our first day in sight as 5.00pm appeared and we could vaguely see Arbatax port in the distance when something unexpected occurred...we started losing speed and power. After all the jokes of being stuck out to sea this could actually of became a reality. So from travelling at 24knots we were at best back to 8knots, in average swell we travelled that last 4nm into Arbatax wondering what could be?
