      ... about 1 hour on the boat. There is residential along the shoreline and half way up the mountain most of the way around the lake, the further we get away from Como although it begins to thin out and clear townships can be seen.
      Menaggio is, like all the other towns, a holiday destination and at this time of year most of the places are closed. We find somewhere to have lunch and then spend the afternoon wandering through the alleyways ...

      Well from the outside of city there is a breathtaking view of the upper town but once you are in it I woudn't say the same. Still there is plenty to see wandering around the streets and lots of lovely churches to explore. But it's definitely not the best medieval town in Italy.

      Abby and I left for Bergamo early on Saturday morning (4 am from our house exactly). We took a taxi to the airport. Once at the airport, we sat there for over an hour with nothing to do because apparently nothing in the Valencia airport is open that early. We hopped on a Ryanair flight and we were off.       Well, our summer holiday is well and truly over and we are making our way North for a month of some major cities (and some smaller ones) before heading to the snow. we departed Siena after a lovely week and made our way about 4 hours north to Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, and arguably the world.
