... headed into the
museum area, took some photos with the I Amsterdam sign and at the
gardens surrounding the museum. Museum was too expensive so we passed
up on it. Trammed to the Windmill (very unexciting) and then to
Jordaan (kinda nice area with upscale shops). Walked back into town
and walked around. Had some chips with mayo (typical Dutch dish).

... a rough rendition of Luke Sinclair's wonderful song Silver Fox for the Viennese Garden Party crew and immediately they ask, 'Wow. What's that song?'
And to top it all off, we see a hedgehog!!! Red squirrels and woodpeckers, but the little hedgehog was so cute and stupid looking, with his little nose poking through the bushes, sniffing out the scent of the midnight wieners we were cooking. He who bops along quietly and inconspicuously, until, finally finding food, ...
... focused manner.
A hilarious highlight was our venture through the Red Light District. We were two of only a few young females whom were there but not behind red-lit windows. We stood on one of the canal bridges eating steaming hot "chips" (french fries), watching the googly-eyed males attempt to make their hot bargains of the night.
Other than that, we enjoyed strolling markets and visiting family.

... coupon via the hostel for a discount! I did like the postcard keepsake at the Anne Frank House better. We stopped at Solo Eten and Drinken on Van Baerlestraat for white wine and a tripel. We were serenaded by a Violinist and Accordian player. We passed a supply-like store and I picked up a new pocket moleskin for my daily notes. It was a very cool store! ... 3 hours we had left before we had to make our way back to the airport, we decided to do 2 things: visit the I AMSTERDAM monument (see picture) and jump on a canal cruise. The monument was really neat and just buzzing with people. We took the chance to take some pictures with the sign despite the one lady who seemed to make an effort to stand in front of me every time I went to take a picture....people, I tell ya.
