... in it, and covered my skin! It was much paler than I expected, after the black beaches of Stromboli. And you could feel the grains in it too, like ground up pumice. Although you do get used to the smell to a certain extent, it was good to stand up, and wash off the paste! The next step was to go to the sea, and the natural spa. I'd been looking forward to this part, and was a bit disappointed that the tide was so high that you could only lower yourself into the water carefully, ...

We enjoyed the local wine - a c******nay(esque) white - the only one they make on the islands apparently. We said goodbye to Scopello early on Saturday the 6th Sept and drove about 2hrs on the freeway. They were pretty amazing roads which passed through dozens of dark tunnels under hills & towns to Milazzo, a port town, where all the boats to the Aeolian islands depart. We dropped our car (in a secure garage) and boarded the 1hr hydrofoil to Lipari island. The ferry trip to Lipari was quick and on time! We were pleasantly ...

... hope he is a good sailer. The way he tied off the fenders, was a little over kill, and not the traditional way a fender is attached... They most definitely can not be removed with a single tug. With our third crew on board, Milena pulled away from the dock,, and were going to fuel up, before continuing to Panarea journey of 12.5 miles. While at the gas dock... Manual jumped off Milena, catching up to the curious Nelson, who wanted to go out for a morning stroll. ...
