          Capers are a big deal here. They grow everywhere and and are used extensively in the local cuisine. Every mom and pop shop of any kind will have their own version of preserved capers on sale, either in salt or in olive oil and packed in any kind of jar available. Most didn't bother to remove the original label from the recycled jar. Nescafe capers, anyone?
