... we have some dinner and settle in for the night. It is starting to get a little chilly at night ( down to around 10 Celcius) and we realize that there is no heat turned on. We call the owner and she said that the heat can't be turned on yet, it is against the law. I'm thinking that this is just the owners way of saving money. The landlords are probably not required to turn on the heat until November 1st. Canada has similar laws, but it is incovienent for ...

... Montalcino is home to the world famous Brunello. So of course we must stick to our "local consumption" plan. The town is filled with wine bars & tasting rooms and there are surprisingly few visitors about. While staying in Monalcino, we get in the car to discover the surrounding area. Day 264 2 hrs, 4.3 kms I figure I'll make one more stop before my next big destination of Livorno. So I hop off the train in the town of San Vicenzo and find... another beach town. This one does have bit more density to it, with a boardwalk and pedestrian street near the sea, and residential neighborhood up into the hills--probably mostly summer homes... Let's move ...
