We had a relatively quiet start to this morning as our walking tour did not start until 10.30. This gave us time to shower, pack, breakfast, vibes mums ( mum S was not answering) and Bethany. It is lovely to hear some news from home. We arrived punctually as that's how we roll and the guide did not turn up. A few others were there waiting as well. We gave up and decided to do it ourselves as we really only have a short time until the train leaves at 2 .05 pm. We went to ...

You sure notice the big city once you have spent some time in rural countryside. This is how we felt but I think it is justified as everything here is extra large. It was very good and provides a great view of Milan and a very ...

Arriving in Milan late Monday afternoon left us no time for museums or churches, but we made good use of our evening exploring the Brera neighborhood, enjoying one last pizza, and wandering streets up to the Duomo -- for gelato from Grom and for last looks at the Galleria and extraordinary ...

    The right way to visit

Dee researched the sites and (more importantly) their hours, not that the listed hours would have anything to do with the actual hours; and we planned our visit accordingly. We have a reservation to see the Leonardo's Last Supper in the Church of Santa Maria dell Grazie at 1:30 p.m. (need to be there by 1:10 p.m.). Our hotel is near a metro stop on edge of the city (free parking around the block). We buy an all-day metro ticket, and are in center city at 11 a.m. We visit the ...
