... be at the Castello Restaurant, well recommended by Egido. It was also his cousins! Located at the edge of the town cliff, with views to the headland and harbour. Going up the steps I thought about pizza in the piazza, but this was to be Pauls birthday dinner so kept stepping. Enjoyed dinner, with the service as it came. We kindly pointed out a mistake on the bill, and subsequently encouraged to partake of as much lemoncello ...

... weren't many people on the trail so we had it all to ourselves. I would walk that trail hundreds of times over if I was ever given the chance. The most amazing views are within the first 10 minutes of walking from the station as the trail wraps around the watchtower of Vernazza's castle. You will definitely want your camera. The full hike to Corniglia, which is the greenest hike in the Cinque Terre as it meanders through Olive groves, takes about 90 minutes. In half way on the path Corniglia-Vernazza you meet Prevo, a tiny hamlet ...

... sadly couldn't make the journey over. After the ceremony, we had some pictures taken on the beautiful castle steps, before walking up a few more for the reception. The meal took place in an amphitheatre area with more amazing views over the town and harbour of Portovenere. The food was classic Italian fare, lots of breads, meats and cheeses with lovely pastry tarts for pudding. A glass of Pimms made you forget temporarily forget that ...

... we had a couple of films to watch tonight and that was about it!!!

On Wednesday we took off to buy some things to bring with us to Milan and Luxembourg….and make Brunella spotless for Maryce (and us of course) when we return next week.

I then left Mary to get ready at home while I walked down to return the videos and pick up some things from the supermarket then to Stazione Centrale to buy the tickets for our journey. Well…. I knew it was going to take ...
