    Ok so I set off to explore the gorge ...20 minute walk ...20 minutes from where ?? I at least walk an hour to get there and then find a sign that says some other place one is on my track ??? Finally a local lady says to go that way ..ok then ..down the mountain side I go across a stream ...great got wet things now ..(wore things as it sounded like a casual stroll ) skinny path across grass lands ..oh I'm in ...

    ... number of skiers & snowboarders, apparently you can ski all year round. Came on down the hill.

    Tim was out so I played game of dice with Madeline & Colleen, this was just wasting time as the whole of Zermatt shuts down from 12 - 2pm for siesta. Walked down town, into the Church, lovely building, then kept looking at the shops & ran into Tim, walked, had a drink, back to the hotel

    ... and a tour of the magnificent Borromean Princes palace. The boat ride was relaxing and after the palace tour we walked around the gardens, back to the bus and back to Switzerland.
    Over the Simplon Pass, beautiful views on the way back down.

    ... and shapes, lounges spread out into nooks and comfortably decorated in a classy ski lodge atmosphere. Skiing still goes on the back side of the Matterhorn today!

    After another feeding of dinner, we were all off to bed in anticipation of taking the train up to the 10,000 ft altitude to view the Matterhorn. There is also a hotel, The Kulm, up here where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, fondue, of course wine and beer and look out at the majestic ...

    ... saw us running across the street and held the train for us, which was very nice of him. It was about 30minutes up to Gornergrat and on the way we had fantastic views of the Matterhorn, it is a magnificent mountain, no wonder toblerone is designed after it. On the top we had great panoramic views of the surrounding ranges with the Matterhorn sticking out as the main feature. Had a walk around enjoying the mountain scenery and decided to walk 3km down to the next train station ...
