... second one held heaps of people. You will see by the photos how many were in there lol. When we reached the summit... Oh My Lord we cannot explain how beautiful if was. It was so peaceful and the day was so clear, clean and bright. It was like the sun rained down on us. We exited the cable car station and with a quick check of the map, started up the hill (lol, hill) to join the start of our walk to the lakes. ...

Thursday 16th - got up early before 6 to be ready for our 8 hours of trains to Switzerland. Unfortunately to Shawn's dismay we didn't get to go on a ICE train (intercontinental express) - the Deutche Bahn high speed train. Settled for a EC (euro city) from Munich Hbf to Zurich, followed by a IC (Intercity) to Visp in Switzerland (after passing thru Austria briefly) and then a regional train on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn to Zermatt which is a cog rail ...

... more like scooting along.) After this amazing experience, we went into the mountain top cafe. the ladies had hot cocoa and the guys had bier. Karen took out a bag of trail mix from her backpack and it was inflated like a balloon due to the decrease in atmospheric pressure! We traveled back down the mountain and got off at the Furi gondola haus and walked down a trail back into Zermatt. It took over an hour. We saw a large variety of flowers along ...
