Gav and I grabbed breakfast in town. There were a herd of goats - I think it was a show for us tourists but what the heck they were cute and they looked the part. We found a cafe that was serving half priced coffee and sandwiches - a nice surprise as we didn't find out until the bill arrived. ... So we rode the Matterhorn express to the snow capped mountain at 3890 meters - Wow! Several of hikers were planning to make the decent by walking and were completely outfitted with walking sticks, ropes, helmets, and picks. I've never seen a more fit group of people. ... one of the highest viewing platform in the world at 12,333 feet. The top of the Matterhorn is 14,000 feet high! After our gawking we walked through a tunneled out glacier with some funky ice carvings and a very slow ice slide. The kids loved the chance to go tubing in July! Today we woke up early and took an hour bus ride to a train station where then we boarded a train to Zermatt. Once we arrived in Zermatt we did some shopping and then took a special kind of train up the Matterhorn. On part of the mountain was a lake and picnic benches. It was cold and rainy but the scenery was beautiful! It was cloudy so we didn't get to see the very top of the Matterhorn but we still saw amazing sights. We all got pictures as a school with a ...
