ZERMATT TO LONDON

A travel blog entry by nancya on Oct 08, 2014

Alas we are leaving Switzerland, it is a glorious sunny morning so the Matterhorn was very visible and glowing in the early morning light. We are in the train to Visp where we connect with the train to Geneva. As we move away from Zermatt the clouds close in. From Visp 2 1/2 hours to Geneva airport passing through small towns and larger ones like Montreux, Lausanne and ...

As you walk you never know what is coming behind you because there is little sound from these vehicles as well bikes go full speed down the street . It is bustling here can't imagine how busy it will be when the snows arrive. We take a cable car to ...

Had to see the Medieval bridges and the beautiful old buildings decorated with ornate designs or scenes. Luzern is a beautiful city. We travel from Luzern to Zermatt by train. We have three trains with transfer times of around 5 minutes in between so ...

We started off with a trip up to Rothorn, which was a new spot for us. We took the tunnel train up, then grabbed a cable car. It snowed on top of the peaks last night, first snow of the season! It was ...

... barn to small barn, letting them eat the stored food. So straight across the road to the main Brig Station. Platform 4. On the train now to Milano Central. Italy, here I come. The ticket collectors are so helpful on the trains. The lady on the last train told me that I need to go to Platform 4 for the Milan train. Great to know ahead of time. Arrived Turin with no trouble. Found the hotel ok after a couple of directions. Beautiful room But I am very tired. Will add to this ...
