... extremely colorful.
The weather was stunning, hot and clear and we decided to
spoil ourselves with a Pizza in the sun at one of the many restaurants.
And then back onto the train for the return trip to Sion and
our camp where we spent the late afternoon swimming in the local lake and
sucking on a few “frosties”.
Our first real “RELAXING DAY”.

Today was a rainy day in Zinal, a tiny ski town here in the Alps and almost to the Matterhorn. We hiked to the top of the Col de Sorbois and were able to intermittently see the glacier blue Lac de Moiry but we never got to see the grand ...
... better. Sometimes a day, an hour or even a few minutes can make an amazing difference in a picture and usually when traveling, the option of a do-over is seldom available.
We spent the rest of our day traveling, eventually winding up in the town of Zinal, Switzerland where we found another wonderful hotel with another wonderful view of the mountains. Ahhh, life is good.

... night's bad experience at the hut, we decided we are ready for a hotel--Our own room. Our own bathroom. Clean sheets. Delicious food. Warm, friendly people.
We are at a most lovely hotel, with the most amazing flowers I have ever seen. Wow! And the view from our balcony and room? My gosh, it looks out at a glacier- topped mountain that is so high you get get whip lash looking up at the top!
Sleep will be sweet tonight!
