Visiting the vineyards of Tuscany in the Chianti Classico region it's so beautiful. Wine is under the Gov'ts control and they test the wine under DOCG. Vineyards must be at least 5 years old and no more than 18 years old. Wine must age 9-18 months or 18-36 months if it is a reserve wine and then must age another 3 months in the bottle. All grapes are Sangiovese ...

Locating a typical Italian bar, come coffee shop, we took part in the great Italian tradition of coffee at the bar with a Panini or cake ( well some of us did have cake , not me ) we had between the four of us 6 cups of coffee , pot of tea , two panini and two dolce (cakes) and the total cost was €13 how good ...

      Day 2 Siena

... In a mini van we travelled out to the Tuscan countryside and our first stop was about 1/2 hour at a quaint little medieval village with spectacular views over the country side, next we went to a working farm/winery of 350 plus acres in the Chianti Hills. The house itself had previosly been a monestry and was delightful. This winery Casamonti is not usually open to the public, they raise a special pig there called Cinta ...
