    ... next 27k to the hotel, so while he sped off with some of the others, I did some ceramic shopping. The patterns on the plates, platters and jugs were really cool, and it was hard to decide which ones to get. Prior to leaving, Ken gave some good guidance so that helped in making decisions!

    We left Venice on Sunday morning after a a short visit (2 nights) which felt sufficient. The kids really enjoyed Venice, and Jonah has declared it his favourite city so far. I think the unusual layout with bridges, canals and meandering pathways appealed to the kids.     Came home to Sorano to find the Beer fest going on in the main piazza, so we had to stop to check it out. They had all different kinds of food, homemade ravioli, gnocchi, spaghetti, meats on the grill... oh yeah, and BEER!

    The band started at 10 and didn't stop till 3 in the morning, with each song echoing through the small streets of Sorano, didn't get much sleep that night.
