I went to sleep with the curtains partially open so I could see the Acropolis. It was still there when I woke up .... For a budget hotel, it has amazing views. After getting organised and having breakfast, I had about 1 and a half hours to fill in. So I took myself off again to wander the streets and soak up the last bits of Greece! Just walking around was an experience itself ... I can't get over the amount of graffiti everywhere - it really makes ...

... fruit, chocolate crepe and raki (a local spirit, probably metho, but we drank it anyway). I also discovered I quite like retsina, a white wine aged in a pine resin coated cask.

That night I slept through an earthquake, quite a big one apparently, but not big enough that anything fell off anything in the hotel room. N did manage to rouse me for the last five seconds or so, I went straight back to sleep to N's chagrin.

... rule out that he was saying we're "here." And I must say most people are very pleasant and we find they respond well to our use of Greek. Anyway, what a delightful place Oia is, but like all of Santorini designed for the tourist - lots of tourist shops and eateries and lots of tourists. Donkeys ply the path as well and Ang wasn't overly trusting having to walk past them ...

... costly but there are also some smaller rooms with public pool in the area that also offer great views and sun deck. When we were walking there, we kept saying " Wah, look at that". "Must be really expensive". Luxury is nice when you can afford it but 300-500 € a night is the amount both of us spend for a month of travel expenses. Next life maybe. Haha. I personally think that the view between these 3 towns is better than that from Oia. They all ...

    Last day in Santorini

... am glad we got to experience Santorini. It unfortunately wasn't the perfect meal to finish our stay.

I'm going to miss Santorini, especially our afternoon naps when lying in the shade with that cool breeze blowing is the most amazing relaxing thing. And I'm really go to miss all the animals howling away at night. From the dogs, donkeys, insects and what I think is an owl that hoots all day and night long, they will all be missed.

    Ollie out.
