    Love this place! Sun, sea, gondolas, seafood, pasta, pizza, beer, wine, gelato, a photo opportunity around ever corner, fantastic. Himself really loves it, to my relief. We have wandered pretty much all over the main island and most of Murano too. Have taken the ferry around the island and up the main canal which was great for getting an idea of the lay of the land.     ... 10pm we headed out for a quick dinner. We went for a walk over a few bridges after dinner and saw two amazing super yachts. One was called 777 (maybe Triple 7) a 68 metre yacht based out of Australia. Aidan and Toch talked to one of the crew who was on shore who was from New Zealand. Reason they were in Venice....... the owners wife wanted to go shopping so they sailed over from Croatia. After the European summer they will relocate to Asia then onto NZ. ...

    ... that instead of heading to one of the near by cities by trains, I would just stay in Venice and do some sightseeing of nearby islands. Despite the cold and foggy weather I would say that my day was surprisingly fabulous. The atmosphere created by the fog was truly amazing.

    My first stop of the day was Lido, a small island roughly 8 min by boat from the San Marco square. I cannot believe that there is such contrast from island to island even thought the proximity to Venice ...
