... Carribean) and the crew were professional but friendly (Big Gazza and Cheryl, helped by Gary and Tracy) and down to earth. Even though it sounded very strange hearing Christmas songs whilst staring into a cloudless blue sky, and the temperature 28°C. There is a "happy hour" from 4-5pm every day with all drinks (except hot drinks )buy one get one free, spirit measures are generous and ice is safe. The bar staff ...
Puerto Rico, Canary Islands, Spain and Canary Islands madcaravanner... layer. Within the cloud layer are dense "cloud" pine forests which are similar to rain forests. Once you drive up and above the cloud layer the sky is clear blue and the terrain is warm desert- an amazing contrast to the dense cloud forests and cool air that were just a mile back! You look back down and you see the cloud layer which looks like a solid mass of cotton below you. It reminded us of looking down at the clouds when you are in an airplane ...
Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain and Canary Islands johnandrichLas Palmas has a mainland-Spain feel, spiced up with an eclectic mix of other cultures, including African, Chinese, and Indian, plus the presence of container-ship crews and the flotsam and jetsam that tend to drift around port cities. It's an intriguing place with the sunny languor and energy you would normally associate with the Mediterranean or North Africa. The hooting taxis, bustling shopping districts ...
Las Palmas, Spain, Spain and Canary Islands katstravelHad a brilliant time and went on a 7 miles beach walk most days from Playa de Ingles to Maspolomas where all the sand dunes are. On the evening went to the yumbo centre where they have all the Drag queen acts which were really funny. Unfortunatly for me I kept getting dragged on stage lol.
Playa de ingles, Spain and Canary Islands luke_1989I always wanted to see a camel (these were dromedary camels with one hump). They were very sweet animals. These ones were very responsive to touch and even seemed to get jealous when you paid more attention to another one. Real workers, they were ready to get on the trails. We even got to see a baby that had been born recently. I got to hand feed him. :)
Playa del Ingles, Spain ross11I remembered looking at photos of the Canary Islands before I left and I saw one of the beaches had a ton of sand on it. It was hard to judge how much it actually was. They could have been small or very large sand dunes. Turned out they were large. I think they are 8 kilometers across and 1 kilometer deep before you reach the water ...

I've never ate so much in my life.... Our view from our room was fabulous too... We were 12 people, myself and Jacob's family. It was a wonderful weekend of sun, camels, and good food :)

Playa del Ingles, Spain pdollo21I hated this holiday - the apartments were away at the top of the hill, beyond the Europa Centre and they were building a new hotel next door, we were told that it was only remedial work - total nightmare. The were drilling from early in the morning til sunset - but apart from that nothing would entice me back to the same area again!
