We arrived in Agadir, checked into our huge resort hotel (a room with an ocean view! $50 a night), and spent the next day lounging on the beach or by the pool. Nothing else to report.

... glimpses of water, and the villages north of Agadir were highly Westernized and largely appealed to surfers (lesson: one cannot, as Lonely Planet claimed, be both a "peaceful little fishing village" and “the premier destination in Morocco for surfing”). ... left Essaouira with a view to more of the same along the N1 to Agadir.

Within an hour though, most of that classic Moroccan character was disappearing. The traffic thinned, the road narrowed and was mostly smooth and winding, lots of uphill and downhill bends twists and turns. And needless to say lots of fun.
