    ... of getting to and from places and the time you get to spend anywhere as you would be well aware that you can only go at the speed of the slowest. Suffice it to say, we had one of those trips! The walk to the glacier was through the stones and sand that the glacier has pushed around, apparently the glacier is underneath it all too but that was only obvious in a few places.     11. Lutheran is the state religion of Iceland but it doesn't appear that faith is terribly important to most Icelanders. As we drove back to Keflavik airport we did see a First Baptist Church which was super surprising to see.

    While we sat drinking our coffee we could look right out the window into
    the wonderful swimming area and its hot springs. Just watching it all was
    making me desperate to get in there.

As we continued along the road where (on a clear day) you can see the mountains covered by the glacier/volcano Eyjafjallajökull. While impossible to say (for me, at least), many will remember that it put itself in headline news and literally halted thousands of flights across Europe in 2010.
