    Day 10

    The largest Turkish city on the western Mediterranean coast, Antalya was a lovely place to spend our next few nights. Our accommodation was located down one of the many little laneways that meander around this wonderfully preserved old city district of Kaleici. Surrounded by the remnants of rock walls, the area nestles in the cliffs around the old Roman harbour with amazing views from every angle.

    ... 9 AM, but because we were doing the EFE dance (Which is a Turkish folk dance in which the dancers act as eagles displaying mainly bravery and other traits) which needed to have a costume, we needed to be there at like 8:15 AM to get dressed and make sure we were ready for the dance with no hold up's. Getting closer the mountains became hills and suddenly a vast flat steppe was laid out before us and in the centre the city of Konya sprang forth and spilled out its 1.3 million inhabitants.     ... and with us telling him "No Tahir you killa us, you killa us!!!". Eventually a deal was struck and our carpets are now on their way home to SA. (So different to buying my 3 m x 4 m Kashmiri carpet which was lugged around India in my suitcase!!) We had supper last night in Umbrella Street . This is a street covered with hundreds of umbrellas.
