... of local wine and a tankard of beer at a street café overlooking the ocean and yacht basin – some of the boats in the 100 foot and up length. Then we walked down the road along the harbour until we found a bus stop and made our way back to the ship. On the way, we found a duty free shop and bought bottles of wine and champagne. Liquor on board the ship is not included and we thought we couldn’t even bring ...
Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain suzanne-normanAnd at long last we are on our way ... can't quite believe we are actually starting this journey after all the work, planning, talking .... And we know we've been to San Telmo many times before but this time it is different!! And so good to have Simon's old friends Max & Linsey onboard - after all they were really the people responsible for him ending up in Port d'Andratx to begin with.
St Elm, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain sharkita... br>We ended up going to a large club in the center of the city. It was probably the largest club that I've ever seen. This place was huge! I ended up dancing with the girls until about 4 am when I was beginning to get very sleepy and returned to the yacht. I didn’t bring my cell phone and when I got back the passarelle was raised up to prevent anyone from getting aboard. There is always a Duty Officer on duty and part of their job to welcome and ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourneyWe arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.
sa Calobra, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourneyWe left Ciutadella around 8 AM to cross back over to Mallorco and into the Bahai de Pollença. It is a deep cut and large protected bay on the northwest corner of the island. We anchored out in the bay, away from other boats and the crew setup everything for watersports. Since everyone was more spread out and busy with different ...
Port de Pollença, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourneyJust south of the town of Portocristo are the Cuevas del Drach, which are really four caves all connected to each other. This cave however has a large lake in it, called Martel Lake. It's large enough to ride a boat in and to see all the stalactites hanging from the ceiling. It’s a beautiful place ...
Porto Cristo, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourney... away from the small coastal town of Colònia de Sant Jordi. This beach was rated the second best bare beach in the world and I can see why. Only six of us could go to the beach since the yacht would continue on towards Minorca and we would have to return on the heli. I didn’t even think we would have six people since no one had fully recovered from last night. We took a tender to shore where the crew ...
Colònia de Sant Jordi, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourneyI take a bus to the other side of Palma where there are some small, pretty beaches. Finding them is a little tricky but they are pretty, for city beaches and have a much more Spanish orientation. Some really nice beaches are supposed to be available but I lack the time to work them in (it is large island with slow transit).

My roommate and I go out for the night in Palm central. We walk around and find a little place on a side street ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.traveller... SpanAir, an airline that I have no familiarity. I was able to get a $100 fair from Scandinavia to Spain during peak vacation season. The flight is fine but they charge for everything, sodas and even water. While on the flight, my PC crashed. On the reboot it asked for bootable media. Yikes! A little panic but on the next reboot, it started up fine. I am backing up photos every few days but my PC has been key for my communication, my blog, photos, info collecting … Later in ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands will.travelleri visit spain so often but I had my first trip there at the tender age of about 8 months! haha!

needless to say I can't remember that particular trip but the subsequent ones really hit the spot with me!

I love Majorca because it has something for everybody. Mad nightlife, beautiful beaches and scenery, lovely people and not as "high rise" as main land Spain.
