I had never thought of travelling to Zurich only to take part in the Street Parade. But back in 2008 some friends wanted me to go there and I did not regret it. It is a real special parade with many friendly people in a very nice city near the Lake Zurich. The central station was also decorated and used for the party, and during night time the big station hall became one of the largest dancing clubs in the world. I can only tell people to go there and enjoy the great ambiance!<br>

... If there's supposedly so prestigious and giving them the nice bags and such adds to the prestige and I'm sure that the tourists do go and tell their friends. They have anything from CK to LV to Rolex and Cartier and from what I could tell, there were tourists sitting in the lush leather seats looking at them and buying them as if they were free. ... This was cleared up for me when I realized that it was 7 AM. Naturally, none of the stores were open, so we wandered down to a square near the lake at the end of the Bahnhoffstrasse where we explored their Saturday open-air flea market. Lake Zurich was just as gorgeous as the rest of Switzerland. Just a day trip to see this old city. Lots of brightly painted buildings with ornate oriel windows. Most of the windows were carved with scenes or fancy designs, sometimes painted, sometimes both. Lots of fountains and statues. Found a chocolate shop and pigged out.

... and on down to the lake which is beautiful to look across. The tour was different to all the others we had done, sure, they pointed out the sights and the historical buildings, but the main emphasis seemed to be on the wealth of the place. We were taken to the top of a hill and shown a very expensive hotel then as we descended the hill it was as if we were on a tour of Celebrities homes in Beverly Hills, in fact, the tour guide referred to ...

Once again, Murren was rainy and cloudy when we left the hotel at 6:45am. We pulled our luggage behind us, backpacks on our backs (duh), and made the 15 minute walk over to the Murren-Lauterbrunnen cable car station. Inside the station everything was dark. There was one tall goofy guy wandering around behind the ticket area, busy trying to look busy I suppose. He turned out to be quite the snooty Swiss. I asked him if the 7:22am train-cable ...
