... to encounter and we were able to catch the 11:50 p.m. (the last of the evening) bus back to our hotel. Some of our hosts waited across the street to make sure the bus came for us - not sure how we would have returned to the hotel (about 20 minutes by bus ride) as they only had one mini van full of Swiss players. All was well - the bus arrived and the driver was very surprised to see 40 people at his last stop of the night!
Sitting at the airport in the lounge waiting to board our aircraft @ 0035hrs. Had to show passport & boarding pass 4 times so far & both of were frisk searched as the "beeps" went off going through security. Singaporeans are certainly doing there job well & not letting anyone get out of their country easily. I'm over this security checks or maybe getting tired even if I did have 40 winks earlier. Oh so happy as after boarding aircraft have found spare ...
... The computer idea was a bust, so we waited it out until Florence. We went downstairs and sat on the floor of the airport, in between two doorways, deleting pictures off of our phones to make room for new ones.
After about a half hour, we boarded the plane in Switzerland for Florence. We went through the gate to a shuttle bus, that took us straight up to the airplane. When we got off the bus, we walked up a small tunnel covering stairs from the snow that lead right to the door ...
... the animals themselves. After the bears (or lack thereof) we headed into the main square and were greeted by wonderful shopping streets and an excellent old clock tower anchoring the area. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a farmers market going on so we took some time to wander the aisles and rub elbows with the locals picking up their groceries for the day or week. We also came across a fantastic Mexican food stand in the market and had the most amazing lunch ...
... There were lots of other boats out on the lake - small finishing boats, pleasure boats, small sailing boats, expensive yachts and ferries towards the southern towns. It was pretty. The whole boat ride took around 40 minutes and was CHF 6.20 (£4.10) per person. We hopped off near the southern part of the city, right in the middle of the old buildings and the churches.
