First day in La Ciotat where Karine and Olivier live, right not the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Went to bed late, woke up a little late, and bummed around for part of the morning. Once afternoon struck we were off to Cassis to see what the coast had in store for us.

Have arrived at the Marseille / Provence International Airport which completes the first leg of our 20 hour Journey home. It is a beautiful airport, we are waiting now to check in. Yesterday, was a relaxing sort of day. We slept in until 9:00 am then went for breakfast at the hotel. We walked into town and did some more shopping and I took some more ...

We are located about 45 min north of Marseille, deep in wine country, in a village called Pourriers. .Gail had the idea to drive cross country the last few Kms. The highway is called the Cezanne reroute after the painter. Really nice, through winding switchbacks with some sharp drop offs. It reminded ...

    Viva la France!

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on May 27, 2013

It all started with an overnight bus trip from London to Paris on a friday night, worst idea ever! Absolute chaos at the London eurolines station! Finally on the bus at 10pm, half an hour late, and on our way. We were on the bus for about 2 hours then changed onto the ferry for an hour and a half then about 4 hours from there to Paris. Managed to get quite a bit of sleep so arriving in Paris at 9am wasn't too bad. We were experts using the Paris underground after all our ...
