Since we have until the 5th off Becca and I decided to take a trek up north to see some loire castles, bretagne, and the mont saint michel.
well apparently since the south of france gets about 300 days of sunshine it has to spend a years worth of rain in one go, and there was crazy flooding on friday morning. it took me a very awkward hour and a half car ride with eve yo get to school. of course when i got there my teachers didn't ...
... than i could paint.
so we get to school and i try to figure out where to go. eve (contact lady) said i had a terminale class at 8:30. well according to the proviseur ( vice principal guy) there are no terminales at 8:30 on wednesdays....okay....?
so i call eve ( our contact lady who is supposed to make our schedule but actually does nothing except annoy us), and im like wtf? please explain and it she tells me that she is going to be late for ...
... love the sunshine. sorry kids at home, but the weather here is gorgeous!!!!
anyhoo so we're finally moved in and making the place a little home-y. until our landlords get us a futon downstairs im living in the mezzanine above beccas bedroom. its such a cute little nook i feel all hidden away. :) hella mignon. oh and we have really cool door thingys downstairs. theyre the typical ...
Just paid a fleeting visit to St Tropez on the way to Avignon (so we thought)... had to be done really.. a quick wander around and a very quick coffee. It was much smaller than I thought. Lots of nice boats but loads of tourists too.... that was about it!
So we left St Tropez to head towards Avignon. I wanted to drive along the coast and we found a little road to take us there.. Little alright! It was about 11 or 17km of narrow winding steep roads. The worst part was the cars we occasionally ran into coming the other way and the big drop on the other side!
But it was all worth it. We found all these beautiful little beaches. We stopped at one and ...
We also took the short drive to Port Grimaud, to visit this small but new harbour town built in what was once marshland, but is now row after row of condos and homes built in a web of jetties to allow the homes to anchor their boats at their doorsteps. Of course, we would have rather spend our time on the beach, but with bad weather, Grimaud was a nice alternative.
Grimaud, Provence, France mylifesjourney... were all off to explore this beautiful and famous town. Unfortunately, it was still overcast and although it wasn't as windy as Marseille, it was still windy, so there wasn’t a lot happening on St. Tropez famous beaches. The waterfront has a lot of little shops and cafes along it and further in town there are a lot more high-end boutiques. We ...
St-Tropez, Provence, France mylifesjourney...
Hyères, Provence, France _mqqm_... walked around town down to the beach and admired the view (topless bathing was the scene at the beach) before heading to a cafe to whittle away the hours placing chess and having a couple of brews. It was nice not doing anything and having nowhere to go. We jumped on the train, excited to be heading to Barcelona and fell asleep. Doing nothing really takes it out of you.
Nice, France mattdonna... What a ridiculous way to die this would be." As scary as I knew it would be, I really just wanted the thing to release. Finally over and with me inches from hurling my Gelato all over the bright yellow platform, the damn thing began to back up the rise again. I have never wanted to get off a ride so bad. Fiona later told me that, the first time, you could see the geniune terror on my face even from the ground. What a lovely place "Le Magic World" was.
