Was a good, different weekend, but id have preferred the festival if the weather had been good.

Le Palais, Brittany, France livecarefree

After leaving at about midnight and some 400 miles driving we arrived here at about 7pm. Settled in and have done a bit of site seeing. The stone alignments at Carnac were amazing but Mike forgot to take his camera. We'll have to go back. Went to Quiberon and Pont Aven on Sunday and just like the Isle of Wight there was nowhere to park! Went back to Pont Aven today it was wonderful. Going walking along vallee de L'Isole tomorrow only 13 k. More later.

Packed up Saturday pm, luckily before overnight shower. Sunday morning, explored Ars-en-Re etc. before heading over bridge. As we did, another old friend, Rob, called to say he was with Peter and Janet and would be in the Belon River Monday. Would we detour? Would we - yes.

... los límites del pueblo de Carnac que tenía unas vistas preciosas y las conchas más bonitas y numerosas que hayamos visto nunca. Además, solamente estaban dos viejillos en toda la playa por lo que se respiraba paz y tranquilidad. Tras esto, hemos ido hacia la costa salvaje. Y ya sabemos por qué le pusieron ese nombre. El viento pega fuerte y el mar está "bravido", lo que forma unos acantilados desafiantes. El buen tiempo sigue acompañándonos aunque aquí el viento azota fuerte ...

... dessus d'autres pour en faire ce qui devait être une sépulture. A Quiberon, nous faisons le tour de la presqu'île en voiture. La pointe offre un vue sympatique sur l'océan et sur Belle Ile. Nous remontons par la côte sauvage, ainsi nommée parce qu'elle ne comporte aucun édifice humain. Cela dit les sentiers sont bien balisés pour que le touriste garde ses distances avec le vide et l'océan mais également pour épargner la végétation. Les payasages font ...

... mais non, il ne s'agit pas non plus de l'oeuvre des p'tit gris ou des ignobles lémuriens venus de l'espace). Un autre détail remarquable : les pierres sont globalement plus hautes à une extémité du champ et vont en décroissant vers l'autre extrémité. Il parraitrait aussi que certaines comportent des inscriptions. Hum... avant de partir il faut que je me renseigne sur ces deux points... Une journée bien remplie qui se termine à la piscine :)))

... n'a pas toujours été une terre chrétienne (non, sans blague ?). Le nom de la rue de l'hotel nous le rappelle assez : avenue des druides... Ah oui, c'est vrai, avant le roi Arthur il y a eu Astérix :))) Quoi qu'ilen soit, Carnac semble bien éteinte en cette saison, en tout cas c'est l'impression que cela donne un mardi soir à 19h00 hors saison puisque pour le diner le choix semble se restreindre... au restaurant de l'hotel...
