... so the combined train fare wasn't so astonishing.
I arrived in Strasbourg a few minutes before my brother's train so I went there to meet him. He was already there, looking around lost and confused. He spotted me and came over excitedly, and then spotted Lincoln. He made such a big scene over seeing my dog that some girls nearby laughed. He told me he had really hoped I would bring Lincoln. Of course Lincoln comes everywhere with me now!

After dinner, we casually strolled through town back to the hotel where we finally got an internet signal. We tried to do some blogging and catch up on life over the pond back home. Once again, during my traditional nighttime shower after completely flooding the bathroom, I went to bed for a very early train to Munich! Oktoberfest, here we come!

... France and walked a winding path to the Cathedral. Unfortunately it was closed for some reason so we only got to admire the exterior. We stopped for lunch at a delicious Alsatian restaurant, Au Dauphin. Here we experience the delicious local specialty, tarte flambée. It is similar in appearance to a pizza. The crust is lighter and thinner, and there is no tomato sauce or cheese, but instead a delicious cream. For toppings, the ...

Finally, I had heard that he was an engaging, charismatic speaker, but after taking his class, I now know that he is not only engaging and charismatic, but he also informed, passionate, and an all around great speaker. The Communications major in me was excited to see that. :)
Thursday night was our last night in Strasbourg, and we still had not taken the canal tour, so we went to the sundown tour, which was at 9:30 pm. I ...
We caught the wrong train and wound up in Gengenbach. While we were waiting for a train back we met a lady who told us the town had a beautiful old-town section. So we went discovering again. After a good look around we stopped at a pub while we were waiting for the next train and got talking to the owner. Turns out he'd been to Australia on holiday, so we had a good time talking to him until it was time to go.

After the art, salsa and sauerkraut, we visited the European Parliament and European Council, monkeyed around in the Orangerie Zoo, then I found myself on the road to Switzerland! I'd like to take this moment to thank my host David-Merci und herzlichen Dank! Leben lang und erfolgreich, Whitney
Strasbourg, Alsace, France w.zahn... more attractive. Apparently you had to be in the cathedral at 12.30 to see the full effect. Wonderful stained glass windows are the cathedral's main feature with a huge sunflower window over the main entrance. It always disappoints me that stained glass windows are designed to be seen from the inside. From the outside you have no idea looking upwards that the windows have any colour or design at all. The nave was immense. You could gather thousands and thousands ...
