Ibis Stockholm Arlanda Airport
Travel Blogs from Marsta
Finally arrived at Arlanda Airport, I really can't contain my excitement. I'm ready to just start crying right here and now... But all I do is stand around and stare out into the distance. Took a coffee break at Wayne's Coffee, ate a vegetarian bagel with turkey ;) A blueberry muffin and a bottle of "Mer" orange. Stuffed two "kexchoklad" down my …
The first thing I truly remember from Europe is Stockholm in winter. It had snowed for a while, and it was already dark outside. The pilot told us that we were just about to land and I looked at the window and there it was: Stockholm, beautiful, great, and breath-taking.
I was going to study in Sweden for half a year, but not in Stockholm. …
Awoken by rain on the window above our bed; we have been so lucky with weather here! Rain - but only on the day we are leaving. It didn't last anyway; by the time we had showered, eaten and packed up it was well finished and the streets were dry. Quick trip to the supermarket to get some fruit for Rita (to go with the thank ...
... Sweden so we had to kind of roughly work out what the meals cost and then we just paid on our travel cards. We will get actual cash if we end up coming back here. Our second flight was only 1 hour and the travelling just had us both totally wrecked so we both slept for basically the whole flight. When we got off the plane here (and in Sweden actually) it was weird seeing snow or ice on ...
... we weren't sure if we had to line up there as we had our prebooked tickets. We went to the information section and they recommended we walk through the palace gardens (which would take us about 25mins) to the place where Marie Antoinette lived and then one back to the palace later. The walk was really nice and the gardens were really pretty but being as it was winter we really didn't get the real experience. We saw footage later of the gardens in summer time and it was so ...
How has this hotel rated in the past?
- Stood in line for the self check in but for it couldn't print my, or the girl before me's ticket so we had to get in line for the baggage check in to be able to get or tickets. Not to bad but still an unnecessary waste of time. Didn't have this problem the last time I did self check in (2010).
- Another complication at the ticket control, probably because of the first mistake.
- The ticket control staff didn't really explain anything either, they just had me standing there while the rest of the line entered the plane. I was actually scared at one point when they started talking, to each other, about my baggage. Never new why it didn't work, they just let me enter when they fixed it.
+ The toilets are very clean and fresh.
+ As is the whole of Arlanda.
+ Arlanda is quite the big airport but, although somewhat confusing with so many, has signs everywhere do you won't get lost.
I didn't know what terminal my plane was leaving from and mistakenly went to terminal 5, instead of 2 as I was supposed to. Just walked through the airport and found terminal 2, easy as a pie.
+ The woman at the baggage check in was nice and helpful, and explained what had happen and why and then have us our htickets.
The two first times at Arlanda there were no problems an I would actually like to give it a 3.5, but since I can't I'll give it a 3.
