... the New Zealand girls was in France teaching English.
After the hospice we had forgotten where we had left the car and so we had to ask someone where the arc de triumph was and it turns out they were Australian!!! So then she explained the directions to me in English and told me that she was in France teaching English as an language teacher's assistant. She was from Sydeny and before we left said that it was good to hear the accent ...
... br>The expo was next with 125 stalls set up with each country selling their tradition wares. So obviously Australian wine and SA boreworst had to be sampled.

... distance train ride so that was an interesting experience. I couldn't even figure how to get out of my cabin, much less the train! Eventually I managed though, suitcase, pretzel salad and all. My pretzel salad got a bit soggy during transport but it was okay I suppose, not as good as my moms though. This holiday season is going to be a little bit difficult for me but I'm glad for the fact that I have family and friends nearby still! I love and miss you all!
Luxembourg, Luxembourg torilusk... they learn is really difficult. It is like my literature class. They have to learn "sophisticated" words and a couple i had never heard off. Then they had an essay they had to rearrange and put in order and then a paragraph to edit the english of. So the one class where i am smart i am learning too >.< although i do understand much better than the french but of course i would.
The last class of the day was history in which i ...
... happened to be closed). As we all had an interest in WW2, we decided to do the full tour of the facility. I found it very interesting (I'd seen a documentary on the V weapons and LA Coupole) but also very grim...knowing that it was all built by POW slave labourers, forced to work at gunpoint to the point of starvation and death, was not nice.
The complex was made up of a huge concrete dome built into the side of a large hill, with a maze of tunnels ...
We've had a couple of days exploring the "Route Touristique du Champagne" in the department of Aube in the southern Champagne region. Our accommodation here is a Logis de France hotel called 'Hostellerie de la Chaumière', where we have demi-pension (bed, breakfast and dinner each day). It's highly rated as a gourmand restaurant so the food's great (though sometime the quantities are over the top!). Naturally, the local ...
Arsonval, Champagne-Ardenne, France graemehWe have stopped for Flunch in St. Dizier after 2 and a half hours and 90 miles of hell. Every gust of wind, corner or oncoming juggernaut drains your strength and hurts your muscles. But it's stopped raining now and the fields of sunflowers still look beautiful :-)
Saint-Dizier, Champagne-Ardenne, France tekknochicken... Roger, Perrier-Jouet, Mercier are just a few other names on this street. Veuve is from Reims so not in Epernay. Our campsite is directly in Epernay so we have a ridiculous view of the vineyards right along the Marne river, they actually encircle us, and were a great place to watch fireworks last night as the country celebrated Bastille Day (cant believe you knew that on the phone dad! good work) We just came here to the internet kiosk after a free tasting at the tourist ...
Epernay, France kaylz... for us. it was just this guy, a film maker from Washington, DC, and he gave us a ride to the cemetery. it was great..after the cemetery, we saw Fort Douaumont, and several different "ghost" towns. before the battle, there had been little villages all over the area, but during the fighting, they were reduced to nothing but rubble..after the battlefield, we called another taxi and headed back into Verdun proper. we got a bit to eat and headed to bed..
