Today Gen and I slept in/lazed in our room until we were called for breakfast. Her brothers and some helpers made eggs, prosciutto, toasted baguette and potatoes and it was delicious! Yesterday's breakfast came with mimosas, but today we had to stay sharp for our bike trip. The Virgin mimosa was good though ;). We rented bicycles from someone local, who brought quite the assortment of good, bad and ancient bikes. I got a purple one and Gen got the tiny yellow ...

This morning Gen and I were awoken by no puking hostel mate, no drunken homeless person and no construction. We slept like babies. I got up at 8:30 and had a lovely shower, in a big bathroom. After breakfast we went into town to ...

For the first evening we had it catered as we ...

... has a lot of the benefits of a three if not a four star. In the room for a little relax and it was then time to hit the streets and walk the old port and towers, on the way the kids had a hotdog and chips for lunch even though by this time it was 2:30ish. We walked the two main port towers but unfortunately not the third as renovations were being completed as well as the area getting ready for the 14 July - Bastille celebrations. Time to have a small break before ...

Thanks mostly to total exhaustion with a small boost from 5 mg of melatonin, we were unconscious until 9 a.m., a 10-hour sleep that made us human for the rest of the day. We threw on yesterday's clothes and came down to the hotel breakfast—fine cold cuts and cheeses including the creamiest and best tasting camembert we’ve ever had without a hint of mold in the rind (a Normandy specialty, we later found out), a couple ...
