I went just one day to Rennes. I thought it was really pretty since all of the houses are made of
rough stones, des maisons bretonnes typiques. Aussi, les maisons sont faites
toutes un peu croches, ca donne un petit style que j'aimais bien.
Et oui effectivement, il fait beau plusieurs fois par jour. It does rain a LOT.
There is mainly what is in every french city, bars, restaurants and shoe shops!
Been chopping some wood for the fire for the last 2 days with ayms cousins and family. 1 of ayms cousins has an old merc he doesnt need, so he has told us we can have it.
Its gonna cost qbout 400 euros to get in insured, mot and on the road, but im hoping rose and mickou will come and split the costs with us.
Petrol to tunisia through spain and africa will cost about 300 euros so its not too bad, hoping to get work in south of france next week to fund it.
... a new town or city is far more compelling than grannies lovely soup. The plan is to move on in the next few days, possibly meeting up with my friends Rose and Mickou (sp) if we can get work along the way.
So gonna sign off for now, hopefully find some work on the internet and the next post will be from spain. Adios amigo!
Unfortunately the fairy tale turretts and cobble streets failed to live up to expectation and seemed to lack any ambiance. This was probably not helped by us arriving at lunchtime when but everything was shut - French siesta time. After wandering around the deserted streets ...
Vitre, Brittany, France darrenhough74... beers, we went to a club that this guy told us was open until 5am, only 2 hours short of the 1st morning bus, but we werent allowed in! aymericks long hair probably or maybe too drunk, either way we ended up getting a taxi back to st thurial which cost us 65 euros!!
getting bored of st thurial now, hopefully we,ll be moving down to nantes in the next 2 days, either hitching or a bus if its cheap!

havnt had much time to miss anything yet, and i still dont know the man utd score from weds, will look in a minute. Its quite tiring trying to pick up the french language, listeing intently to aymericks conversations with his family, but its getting surprisingly easier i think, must be the french bloodline i have!
ANYWAY, BYE FOR NOW WILL PROBABLY SEND NEXT BLOG IN SPAIN!
... they dont turn the street lights on, to save energy! its pitch black at night when we go out for a cigarette!) where the local pub is only open till 8 tonight, and not at all the last two days!
And then move on south next tues or so, find some work in the fields and take it from there,
Oh, and my french is getting better ,oui?
Food isnt too ...
Right, so its time for some warmer times, so we are heading south today. I think we could end up in Nantes, but not really sure yet.....the south of France is pushing 80 degrees still so we need to get down there......Jason seemed to have lost the knack of the trunk packing, probably since we spent 2 nights in the same place. His french is funny, he tried to order the bill the other night and ended up with a beer. Ok, wait, maybe that had nothing to do with his french ...
Châteaubriant, Pays de la Loire, France jamieandjason... system; the oven requires a switch of knobs to compensate for a missing one but its a sophisticated convection type. All that for a blackened frozen pizza. Also everyone says bonjour when they walk in a room and au revoir when they leave it. Bizarre. Nice chat with an aussie girl who'd been to Exit There is a third person in the room overnight (although they have been permanently asleep). Hope they wake up soon; don't fancy packing in the corridor in the morning.
Titeniac, France i_could_walk... was an accident, and I think we only slowed to around 90 km/h. Also, no one sits in their damn mini van in the left lane and holds everyone up. Sweet. Smashed through The Netherlands, Belgium and Brittany (France) on night 1. Then we toured a little bit of Normandy before making our way back.
