... marionette wasn't going to fit into our luggage, and we so looked forward to dragging her around to three countries and then home on the plane.

We ate at Cafe Fresco. The food was pretty good. I had the beef ravioli. Went back to the Hotel Aria -- a beautiful place. Since it had started to rain on and off the rooftop terrace hotel was closed. I took advantage of the opportunity to take a couple of pictures of the Prague Castle at night.

Prague: An Enchanting City

The next day we decided to go to the Natural History Museum in Prague. The museum was right down the street from where we were staying. It was very ornately decorated inside and even though most of the exhibits where in Czech we found it interesting to wander around and take in the exhibits. The strangest exhibit had a giant foot as its entrance. This one was in English and I still didn't get it. We then decided to go on a tour of the city to find our bearings and also enable us to ...

More of Prague

... the 299 steps to the top of the tower, but by now it was overcast (the day had started quite nice) so the view wasn't as great as it would have been on a clear day. There was another sight nearby I would have liked to check out but we needed to get our train tickets back to Munich so we could figure out our schedule a bit better. So instead we headed for the central train station in Prague via metro. Once we had that sorted out, Teri-Lynn said she'd like to do some shopping ...

Prague!

... very impressive because our hotel was located in the newer area and also we all had such high expectations that we weren't impressed yet. September 15 Halfway through my first full day in Prague I decided it was my favorite city. As much as I loved Poland and Germany, visiting each city was like a crescendo, each better than the last (and Florence is definitely the climax!). The order of the cities was perfect because we were gradually acclimated ...

Safe in Prague

... but Thank Goodness, the student ID cards we have are also phone cards. So, then, we hopped on a puddle jumper to Prague and met up with James, Kristin's boyfriend, and Amber, a friend of Chris' who lives in Prague. At first on the bus and metro, Prague looks like any other major city with thoroughfairs, trees, sidewalks, traffic and lots and lots of concrete, but then we walked ...

Of Being Too Careful and Not Careful Enough

... find a place to stay, I still would have rejected her offers. She was really pushy and kept coming back to proposition me like a mosquito. My other options included the many help desks for travelers seeking beds. But these too unnerved me. The one piece of planning that I did do was to bring along a brochure from the Berlin hostel that listed about eight Prague hostels, and at that point I felt very wise to have charged up my travel cell phone. So I began calling the numbers. The ...

The Riverboat Incident and other fun games

Hey everyone! Sorry it has been so long since my last posting - between Prague, getting to Florence, hosting 9 guests in our apartment and general debauchery it has been hard to find a minute to update everyone. So, Prague. It was as beautiful as I remember, and definitely a really cool fun city. I got in on Sunday night after a trip to Dachau, which I think I wrote about last time. Jesse got in the following afternoon, after I went shopping with a girl from the hostel for the full ...

It was early evening so us 3 got some got some local advice from the girl that runs the hostel and headed out to some pub for tea and drinks. I had a Chicken Schnitzel, chips, salad and about 6 big pints of beers for round 350CZK ...
