... pedestrians, bikes do not. Crossing roads is a near death experience. You have to watch for bikes, trams, cars, and you have to know which way to look, which we do not. It is mayhem, but ordered by some tradition we cannot understand. We haven't seen any fatalities as yet. We walked to the Van Gogh museum. A breath of fresh air after the Louvre. So when we got off the train in Versailles, I was a tad cranky! Hot, tired and footsore, I was not in he mood to wander looking for the hotel, but we did finally find it..Le Cheval Rouge....part of the stables of Versailles built in 1676. Wifi does not work and no fan....going to be a long, hot ...

... but opportunity had to be seized: the Paris Haute Couture exhibit at the Hotel De Ville. Nikki and I had been angling for this since we set foot in Paris. (And our most enjoyable London Victoria & Albert Museum fashion Room experience fueled our fashion fire.) But we were strategic about our attack. We passed it daily, as Hotel De Ville, steps from the Bourg, was our metro stop. We knew fashion history did not top the Paris to-do list for the guys. So we waited--waited until ...
