    had a quiet day at home Tony took Rosemary and Tom through to the Pont du Gard
    and then on through to Nimes where they were dropped and are going to spend a
    few nights investigating the area. Seeing the Pont du Gard the second time does
    not take away what an amazing feat of construction it was over 2000 years ago.

    Light cloud, but, mild and bright. The sun actually breaks through the clouds periodically through he day.

    Our English neighbours and lunch companions, of yesterday, Jerry and Norma, leave this morning, heading for the ferry at Caen.

    Despite yesterday's mammoth cycle ride, Kathleen expresses a willingness, indeed, an enthusiasm for going cycling again today.

    ... Kathleen! We find that Norma's mother came from Blyth, in Northumberland, given their complex list of things they do not eat, I theorise, they may be related!

    Soon we are all having a very pleasant lunch at a small cafe in the centre of town.

    The French know how to relax!

    The round trip is a commendable 24 miles, rounded off with sitting in the sun, drinking a cool beer.

    ... a little shack styled cafe which was serving food. I had a hotdog, Max had a panini and Mum and Dad both had chicken that had been marinated in tomatoes, then we all had chips too. Thenn for dessert, we ordered 'fraise et chantilly' which was strawberry syrup, strawberries and lots of whipped cream - it was delicious!
