Castles in the pouring rain, horse and cart rides and beautiful villages plus 4 countries in one day. Incredible! The Romantic Strasse ways a little less romantic in drizzle but after the castles we continued on from Austria into Germany across Switzerland into France. What views! Didn't do much on this day after walking around the castles but …

To begin with our two maps didn't really join up, but John got us into the city well, which was much bigger than we anticipated. From then on we were pretty much blind. We asked a few Swiss where the Banhoff was, and with some sweeping hand gestures we headed off, luckily for us, I spotted a bus stop with ...

... canals and rivers, beautifully clean, and the bridges all with flower boxes along them. Tonight's accommodation is in a little apartment hotel, so we're going to cook our own dinner. I hope I remember how to do it. It will be a simple meal. Today the weather has been just beautiful, sunny and clear skies all day, with the temp about 26 degrees. As we arrived just on lunchtime to find our hotel closed till 2.00 pm, we lunched ...
