Carrie had another work dinner tonight at the Malmo Borshus, across from the Central train station. It was delicious! Pat and Kaye went across the square for dinner/supper. Had pizza, beer (Pat) and soda (DP, Kaye). Most resaurants only carry Coke products. It stays light here until nine O'clock. We were in by 9:30. Carrie didn't get back until midnite. She burning the candle at both ends!
... Rebecca and I spent the morning cleaning up the apartment and washing a tablecloth that had managed to get soaked in beer... We walked around town looking at all the festivities and had lunch with some friends. We had some drinks again and went out to the pub. Had a fun night out and returned to wash yet another tablecloth... whoops. On our last day Rebecca took me down to västra hamnen (the port) to do some sight seeing. It was here that my camera ...
Malmö, Sweden myates... by 7 to get back to the Aussie dollar. Sun doesn't set til after 10pm, very deceiving but good also - the workday doesn't begin til 10am. It's late summer and flowers and colour everywhere. Bikes everywhere also, with large tracts of the city blocked off to cars. Beautiful cobbled streets and old buildings. Difficult to capture the beauty in a photograph. It's really good to catch up with Tim again, just like old time.
Malmö, Skåne, Sweden bray... also conclude that Kalmar is the Swedish equivalent of Toledo on the "Hottie Hotel Receptionist" scale. This place gets 10 senoritas out of 10! Hopefully Odeta and Eva's parents did mankind a favour and had 20 daughters. Holy gene pool, Batman! Some of these small European towns are intriguing - for a town of 60,000, Kalmar sure has a high percentage of beautiful women walking around. I remember Carcassonne, with its multitude ...
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark pwong... would be more than enough time to see the best of Slovenia. I think that's about it. I am enjoying Copenhagen. It really is a nice city. People are very friendly too. I saw on 60 Minutes months ago a segment where the Danes were selected the happiest people in the world. From what I have noticed so far, they can probably make the Friendly List as well. I am going to see if the Killer Snorer has turned over. I guess I can't complain. This is "hostel" territory. Get it? :) Dino
Can't wait. Hvis nogle skulle være i tvivl er det det kæmpe store røde bjeg i midten af Australien. Her bliver jeg nok en lille uges tid ...
Copenhagen, Denmark szb... people who have been using drugs. This is not what I expected and later read in my guide book that I have walked through Vesterbro, which in the past had an unsavoury reputation, but is now becoming trendified with lots of cafes and restaurants. The first impression that strikes you is the number of people riding bicycles - every street has wide bike lanes and these are bustling with cyclists of all types and ages - businessmen in suits, old ladies and men, parents with ...
Copenhagen, Denmark everardt... gruesome sculptures. Things like distorted bodies of people, pigs and dogs or 'death' like figures. We quickly got out of there and found our way to more beautiful sculptures and into painting rooms. The walls were loaded with fantastic paintings from top to bottom. We were pretty tired at this point and it was a bit overwhelming so we hurried it through but stopped to enjoy the pictures that really caught our eye. We took a few minutes to regroup at the ...
