    ... Martin de re which is another town on the island. When we got there the heavens opened and we spent the next hour trapsing around in the pouring rain trying to be brave. We stopped for a hot chocolate hoping the rain would stop (it didn't) and then made the journey back to the campsite on our bikes. By the time we got back we were soaked so we dried off, put a film on and then made dinner.

    Ile de Re is a very pretty but flat island close to La Rochelle, and reached by a bridge. This is one of several islands where a lot of the local oysters and mussels are grown in its very tidal harbours and bay.

    ... for there to be enough water to leave and there are many sand banks outside the marina, yet again very little wind so we motored sailed, plenty of huge jelly fish passing us again.
