... hole and take a nap to prepare ourselves for the drive ahead.<br>What a relief it was to arrive in Sweden and be able to actually read the road signs, be able to communicate our needs and carry on a conversation with someone! We drove a bit more than half way to Stockholm to a town called Jönkshöping (yan-sherping). There we started looking for a hotel. Seeing a Comfort Inn on the side of the road we decided to stay. Being exhausted ...
//Lars
Jönköping, Sweden larski... shopping boutiques and cafes. Due to the river the town centre is slightly bizarrely split into the East Centre and West Centre. The camp site was a little too family friendly. First camp site where I had really been aware of bawling kids and yapping dogs. Couldn't stay too long but at least it was possible to escape into the service building for the Internet and a cider:-)
Jonkoping, Sweden gavin.porter... towards Jönkoping, well close-by. Well into the afternoon with only a few photo take/ stretch my legs stops, I am desperate to get of the bike so stop in a small town and ask for a campsite. Once there I am surprised to see Dutch cars and when I mention it to the camping owner, she replies in Dutch, oke! Normally I don't really like this, but after a few boring campsites and a lot of ...
(near) Jönköping, Sweden foegoerYes, Simon is officially better at all winter sports than me, although I have been having a good shot at toboganning where I can. Gem and I think he has not lost his childhood fearlessness, and will have a go at anything, he is straight down the advanced slope at the skifields, I watch in awe. Meanwhile... I take the kids skis down the smallest hill and stack it, I am totally over getting snow down my pants and beeing freezing, so I quit, and will just drink 'Soppa' (warm juice) on the ...
Huskvana, Sweden jillsy... would have not been bad as a place to be stuck to sleep in. There was also a huge woodden statue of a moose! We ate some more and relaxed on the grass before moving and finally got our ride... a guy who was driving all the way to the north, so we were about to reach Jonkoping and we could have done Stockholm in a day too. But we were going to sleep at Maria in a village near Jonkoping which was still few hundreds km. I talked with him most of the ride while ...
Jönköping, Sweden maplefanta... the Good News magazine were invited to attend. Eleven people were in attendance with four who were non UCG members. Others called before the seminar to ask questions and express interest. Two others contacted organizers Paul and Kira Spenser saying that they would have liked to have come but could not this past weekend. Victor Kubik showed slides of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor and the "Revival ...
Mjolby, Sweden victorkubik... is now a community center that Paul and Kira rented for the event on Saturday. Our luggage arrived mid-morning. We were glad. Then Paul and Kira's parents Thorsten and Marion Engholm came by and we all went sightseeing. Bev and I are very happy to see parts of historic Sweden close to the southern tip of Sweden's second largest lake called Vatten. First, we went to an ancient Viking Rune Stone call Roksten. On it is inscribed a story ...
Mjolby, Sweden victorkubik... 15,000 miles, ran aground six times and contracted beriberi twice for this pile of dusty s**t???" Sometimes it takes a vision and hundreds of years to become great... Happy birthday Australia! Stupid things Aussies do... After drinking three or six of my home brew VB, snow-chilled early on Australia Day in Sweden, I couldn't think of anything better to ...
