Today and tonight was supposed to be spent in a small town named Honfleur, but I've grown tired of all the small French towns recently, and decided to spend my final night in a livelier place - Paris ...

Today was a very pleasant day. We started today with breakfast in the hotel and ended with a tour through Paris. Attached are photos of the many places viewed and visited: Champs-Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, Vendome Square, Montmarte, Louvre, Orsay Museum, Opera Lafayette, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Place De La Concorde , Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens. Before we had not actually gone in the cathedral but this time it was open. Finally Taylore and i got our time in Paris where we could actually see the city and all its sights. lots of backpackers we have met along our trip have told us that it was cool seeing the sights of Paris but they never need to go back because the people there are really rude, especially to Americans. we found this just isn't true. if you take the time to learn and say a few simple words in French like hello, goodbye, please, thank you, do you speak English, etc ...

... inside the actual Opera for a few minutes and then headed off to look around the shopping district of Paris. It was packed with tourists too. We went to the Tuileries and bought a crepes avec Nutella for a snack and walked around Place de la Concorde. We ended up by Les Invalides (Napoleon's tomb) and Musee Rodin. On the way back (around 12.30 am) we bought some crepes from a local shop, and when the shopkeeper found out I was from SA he had his friend take a picture and gave me a kiss!! ... the food and wine are so good. I've liked all the French places we've managed to ski in so far - Val Thorens, Avoriaz, Tignes/Val d'Isere and La Plagne.
