Today was another great day on the bike...maybe even too good by half.

I started the day with the €18 breakfast at Hostellerie du Val de Sault. This beats by €4 the previous maximum I've paid for a breakfast in France. Was it worth it? Probably not, but it was in the ballpark. In addition to the …

Adventures with Fifi along the Gorge and to Arles

... across this adorable town in the mountains that had a waterfall running through town, here we each got a savoury baked good, some fresh mountain water from the local drinking fountains (btw one of my fav parts of Europe, drinking fountains everywhere) and explored a bit. As it was getting late it was time to take to the Fifi and drive to our destination for the night and the next, Arles (the s is silent and I can't say it properly for the ...

    Week 25. France.

... big. We walked away from the main viewing area, sat on the rock and ate our picnic. This was one hell of a picnic site and you didn't have to worry about finding a litter bin either, you just chucked your rubbish over the edge. We zigzagged our way from the top of the gorge to the bottom, ...

... croissants and breads, not to mention all the season's fresh produce. As we're here again in May, the stalls are loaded with fragrant strawberries and asparagus of every shape and thickness, from fattest white to slim bright green. We also bought a piece of the local fougasse to try, this variation of the pretzel-looking pastry was speckled with black olives and delicious. After stopping in a little square for coffee, we headed out of town to photograph ...

    Sur Le Pont d'Avignon

One of my favourite places I visited in France, Avignon is such a beautiful old city. We stayed at an Air B'n'B rental within the ancient town centre, and were lucky enough to have access to a rooftop patio that looked out over the city toward the Palais de Papes. Had a lovely time strolling along the medieval ramparts, and the gorgeous wall of greenery in the city centre. Nothing bad to say about my visit to Avignon!
