        Benin is a former French colony which eventually established a democracy and is apparently a stable place today. It is sandwiched between *****ia and Toga, and like all the African countries we have been to seems happy to help out its neighbours in times of political strife. And like many of its neighbours practises Voodoo as a religion.

        Well, today started early when I woke at my guest house in Johannesburg at about 4AM after having crashed (as in fell asleep... not involved in MVA) at about 7PM, so had had a good 9 hour sleep. I worked on updating my travel blog, which if you are reading this I assume you saw.

        ... We eventually got thru and finally boarded our last flight to Africa. We arrived in Cotonou at 7:30pm and were greeted with a man named Thys, who helped us with our bags.         Well the rain came at 4 o'clock and very heavily in the end. I lay in the tent at 8 o'clock and it was still raining and showing no signs of abating. Not at all convenient for getting up for breakfast. We had breakfast in a garage, sheltering from the rain!

        After breakfast, I made a dash for the dry, cool, comfortable reception to set up the computer and other devices (e.g. batteries, camera ...
