... in the area Le Manoir de La Boulaie, a 2 star establishment set in a lovely park like property with a large pond full of stately swans. The menu is simply incredible boasting small dishes imaginatively served, a feast for the eye and the palate and we have never been disappointed by Chef Laurent Saudeau' s creativity. Doris will ...

Already September, kids back to school yesterday except in BC, here it is an achingly beautiful day, bright sunlight and a lovely breeze to dry my hanging laundry. The vintners will be happy to have these last weeks of sunshine before le vend age or grape harvest, we have checked the grapes recently and because of all the rain they have not sweetened enough to be ready Went for a walk this morning, it's become a routine with us but today was special, we ...

The hunt starts tomorrow at 8:30 am and Dominque has his fluorescent orange vest, his rubber boots and hunting jacket the real thing which his stepfather used to wear when he took part in this manly endeavor. I asked Paul Rousseau our 85 year old caretaker if I could join the hunt and he told me yes I was allowed but I would have to be accompanied by a hunter at all times and must not make a sound. ...
