Rue d'Angleterre 2-20 Brussels, Belgium, 1060, 32-2-5414444
Brussels is a relatively small city compared to most in Europe and it’s the capital of the European Union. You would think that would make them a little wheelchair aware. Not so really!! This was a hard city for us to get around. But we trudged on because Brussels has something that nobody else has. In fact it’s a very special person who has become Internationally famous. He has more outfits than Elton John actually. He might be a little more like George Michael really. He’s...

We arrived in Brussels and got ourselves to our hotel and dumped our bags so we could start our day in the city and see the 5th biggest Cathedral in the world! Haha. And whatever else Brussels had to offer us, not to mention the food, chips, chocolate, waffles and beer!! We had a great day walking about and being amazed with how much Belgium loved us. Haha. Then after our day was done, we headed back to the hotel, had a well deserved ...
Belgium, Belgium ilovetheworld... growth of the city. Floor 3 shows the cultural, economic and social development of Brussels detailed by several historic documents, paintings, engravings, scientific documents and manuscripts. Also on this floor is the wardrobe of Manneken Pis, a collection of more than 600 costumes. I tried to take some pictures but I was abruptly stopped by a guard who, shaking her ...
Brussels, Belgium queson... into a pool. Apparently there are several different stories about why the statue exists, but nevertheless, it's a part of Brussels, so we took some pictures of it. We also made our way to the largest covered shopping area in Belgium, which is home of several delicious chocolate stores and other restaurants.

Of course, as hungry students, we went straight for the food. We had to eat Belgian waffles, get some ...
Brussels, Belgium pageckraker... cheesy and lame. The square was lovely enough though, and we pub-hopped, and wandered around the shops, food stalls and markets until late in the evening, when we caught the train back to our hotel in Brussels. Day 2 We woke up and went into the Grand Place in Brussels to check out the markets there. They were much better than Bruges, but apparently not as good as the ones Debbie and Rob saw in ...
Brussels, Belgium trishigirl... This is the historic hotel that we stayed in our last night in Brussels, upon our return from Bruges. It's called Hotel Metropole, the style is French Renaissance, and is the city's only surviving 19th Century hotel. And I mean everything is surviving, right down to the scary elevator you have to pull a gate across to close.
Brussels, Belgium chandra-conrad... into the building there was this high pitched siren going off...I thought it was a fire alarm. It turns out the guy was tuning the organ. So the whole time I was in there the cathedral was filled with organ music...kind of. I'd like to be in one of these churches when they actually play these huge organs during a service. The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium was just down the road so I took a peek ...
Brussels, Belgium canadianaccentHello everyone, we just wanted to answer some questions that you have been asking. First, Aunt Joanie, we have to update our map and entries each time we visit a new city. That is why some are delayed or done at the same time as others. It is also tricky to put pictures on since it requires me to take a picture special for this web site. That is due to my fancy camera and its settings, so I am sorry ...
Bryssel, Belgium olesja... weekend. At 10 PM Moby went on stage. Neither of us are Moby fans, I think we were the only two out of 125,000 people who felt that way. The crowd went crazy for Moby. It was unreal. Stephen and I assumed that in the states he would probably play a small venue, like 10,000 people and probably not even sell that out. During his performance, Moby announced that he learned how to say something in French (which caused the crowd to boo, b/c he learned French) that he wanted to share. He ...
