    ... with the British nobility and wealthy landed gentry, similar trips can also be made by broke, middle aged men, who are clearly in the throws of some kind of mid-life crisis.

    In these cases the traditional roles of valet and servants are replaced with a wife and children. The fashionable and luxurious up-market Villas should be forsaken in favour of a Caravan. The language skills in this case would have to be vastly improved ...

    ... So once we get to each destination and have unloaded the car, built an awning, and sorted out all the caravanalia we think we might have time to 'read' before we start on the lengthy outside cooking procedure followed by washing plastic dishes in some random sink whilst stood next too a sweaty Italian in his budgie smugglers trying to nod and say 'ci' in all the right places as though we actually understand Italian!
