Our day in Castiglioncello,.. rain, thunder and lightning ,.. we had it all. Sitting in the Motorhome,.. watching the rain come down,.. is really calming. I have to share a funny story,.. As the afternoon wore on,.. and the rain got heavier,.. It appeared that the gutter outside out campsite blocked up and the water backed up into our campsite. It created quite a stream and started to erode the gravel surface of the site. Our Resident Manager called 'the council' to report ...

... and we very much enjoyed the 31km descent and stopping in Arvieux for a burger, salad and proper coffee! We made it to the campsite in good time and glorious sunshine so we went straight in the pool! Time to rest now as we have another big challenge tomorrow. It's been a wet start and finish to our first wedding anniversary today. Best intentions for an early start we're delayed by heavy rain this morning, but we made the first 50km before lunch in great time and had a big lunch outside the supermarket in Saint Michel de Maurienne. We then climbed Col du Telegraphe and the rain started again just as we arrived into camp in Valoire. Currently tucked in our tent, enjoying looking through the photos so far while the rain continues ...

Distance: 52km Cumulative distance: 3416km Best Convenience: hot cappuccinos at Col de L'Izoard Riding conditions: too many flies. Weather: wet, cold, then cloudy. Top of 10 degrees at the Col, 14 degrees at Guillestre Elevation gain: 1150m We awoke this morning to rain pouring down outside. Bugger. The nice weather is over. Time for more Alps weather! At least it's only 52km today! The uphill began almost as soon as we left our hotel. Soon enough, we were back to our Tour de ...
