    We missed the riot. Apparently a number of Africans were injured in a riots on the night before we departed ..... attacked by the Albanians who have dominance in the lorry car park. Luckily we were up at Europe Cite .... which was unfortunately closed on that Sunday. The shopping opportunities are passing me by! Alas!

    ... old, with broken table trays, seats with loose cushions and very little leg room. Fortunately this bus was only to transfer us from London to the ferry in Dover. Upon arriving in Calais, our new modern coach would be waiting for us. There was a delay at the port when we arrived due to a ferry damaging one of the loading piers yesterday. But, the guide straightened it out in short order and after a twenty five minute wait at the rest ...

    Totally misjudged the pack down time, resulting in a mad scramble for the port. Got up in time but lost track. Made it though, straight on the boat. Hank had a monster breakfast, I had croissants (bit queasy) Ben had mouthfuls of everyone else's and grapes, Bells had a good go at a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes. Arrived in France about 9 and currently on route to Le Mans. Quite a few wee stops and a bit of a longer/stretch legs/play stop. Just had a gorgeous jambon/emmental baguette. ...

    It was after 3.00pm when we came out, so decided to treat ourselves to one last meal and headed off to the restaurant opposite. Cider, salmon and ice creams were on the menu so we were both happy bunnies. Then of course we just had to go and sit on the beach in the sun for a while before wending our weary way back up the hill to the van, a cuppa and a sit down.
