... here was the parking, which was €1.00 for 4 hours. Dune du Pyla is the tallest sand dune in Europe, and overlooks both hinterland and the sea. We just sat at the top of the dune for a while and took it all in. Again, another place to bring the parents, maybe with a picnic and some nice Bordeaux wine! New Years night consisted of a quiet night in, as Jayden had to travel for an away game a couple of days later. Unfortunately, the UBB went down to Racing Metro ...

A Winter Christmas

Being our first Christmas away from home, it was a bit strange. On Christmas Eve, we were invited around to one of the players houses for a feast and a few drinks. Not getting home until 5am on Christmas morning, most of the morning was spent trying to catch up on sleep. ... trip like we had hoped. Driving to the yurt saw us going through the remote area of the Dordogne region (near Bordeaux in the South-West of France) with lots of little villages, corn fields, vineyards and even more tiny little villages. The GPS took us right to the door-step and were greeted by the owner's friendly dogs, and then by the owner who showed us around the premises. Our yurt (a large, circular, semi-permanent tent structure) was wonderful and a great ...

Bordeaux

Another travel day. Tears were shed upon leaving our Barcelonian hotel.

One of the stops we made was in a small town named Carcassonne. This is truly the archeype of what people think of when considering a medieval village. All the town surrounded by a moat and thick castle walls.

While we are staying in Bordeaux, it is getting a short visit. We are only staying for the night on the way to Paris. Just enough time to grab a meal and see a few churches along the ...
