... was warm and we continued: the battle between our sore feet and our greedy eyes easily left our sight victorious, and we looked at awe at the Obelisque before walking down Avenue des Champs and reaching the Arc de Triomphe. The Arc was tall and detailed and soared above us. It was well worth the long walk. We returned home with tired feet, a bottle of delicious red wine and another baguette to have tea in our hotel and watch the Eiffel Tower twinkle it's lights. Truly a wonderful place to ...

... that is renting the apartment next to ours and they happen to be from Austin. After a brief conversation, we headed out for dinner and wished them luck in finding the game. Coincidentally, they found their way to the same restaurant for the game, so we got to view the game with a couple other Americans which made the experience a lot more fun. ... sprinted up and down the pathway. We saw people crowded around a 4 piece band, which of course included an accordion. We watched an older couple dance to the music, mesmerized by how romantic even a Parisian sporting event is.

... passed by the tunnel where Princess Di was killed in the car accident. I had forgotten it was in Paris as well. Someone erected a large flame (ala our Statue of Liberty) on top of the bridge.

Then it was back to the office where we were met by a nice looking (Sandy's words!) young man who took us in the van back toward our hotel. I think it was 4 blocks away when Sandy asked if I had the camera. I checked...and I did not. OMG!!!! ...
