In the hope of getting out of the bad weather of Les Deux Alpes, we headed for our next stop near Lac De Paladru, unfortunately we didn't, if anything the weather was worse with almost constant rain for the 2days we stayed, we were still recovering from our bugs so we again spent most of our time in the van..
We took a couple of walks out in between the showers so again not much to report here....

Hairpins, hairpins, hairpins that was the order of the day climbing this little gem just outside of Ugine. The Col De L'Arpettaz is the most enjoyable climb I have ever done. 16km of beauty on a small backroad. The only reason the tour has not ridden this is due to how narrow it is. Towards the summit is is not much more that the width of a standard bike path.

... Forclaz which I climbed yesterday. We stopped for a coffee and the views of the full lake panorama before finishing the full lap of Lac Annecy .
Tomorrow we are off to visit "the roof of Europe", Chamonix to ride the cable car up to Mont Blanc at a dizzy 3842m. The views are said to be spectacular, hope we have clear weather.

Bonjour! We have arrived, Mich's terrible navigation got us lost a few times from Gare Annecy to our hotel which is just a few km away.
Bloody tired but this place makes you feel better as it is so beautiful. Its not true what they say about the French as all we have met have been extremely helpful as long as you try and start a conversation in French they will engage you.
